Shortly before the Anime North 2008 AMV Contest deadline, I didn't have anything done. I wasn't going to bother entering, but heard this song on the Digitally Imported Chillout station. It made me think of Oji Tanaka, the salaryman protagonist of Black Heaven who wants to be a rock star.

It didn't take long to make, and was a nice change from altering lots of footage or searching through multiple shows. Although a large part of the series was unusable, such as the space combat scenes, I was fortunate that there were a lot of long, brooding scenes which fit the tone of the video.

I'm a little disappointed with the ending. The audio part. The song goes on for almost a minute and a half so I cut it off and did a small echo at the end. It'll have to do.

Incidentally, the paper shown during the lyric "Or what about in ten years?" is a filing for divorce. I wasn't sure what else to use to represent that passing of time.
